Becquerel Prize for Outstanding Merits in Photovoltaics

Becquerel Prize 2026 - Nomination of Candidates until 11.5.2026

All members of the photovoltaics community are invited to nominate candidates for the 2026 Becquerel prize.

We are pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Becquerel Prize 2026. The Prize, established in 1989 by the European Commission, honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of photovoltaic solar energy.

Please accept the following basic rules:
• A person may not nominate him/herself.
• Members of the Becquerel Prize Committee cannot be nominated.
• The Prize cannot be shared nor given to an institution or team.
 
To nominate a candidate, please:
a) Fill the nomination form here
b) Prepare 3 documents:
1) A signed cover/support letter, which can also have multiple signatories,
containing an explanation why the person (s) who nominates someone
believes that she/he deserves to get the award.
2) A CV of the candidate.
3) A list of her/his achievements (contributions to PV development, impact,
possibly patents, papers, ….).

Send by e-mail the four documents until Monday 11th of May 2026 (23:59, CET).
They will have to be sent to office-glunz@ise.fraunhofer.de with copy to the Chairman Prof. Stefan Glunz (stefan.glunz@ise.fraunhofer.de).
